Hello, Welcome -----to this one-name study for the surname, SHADBOLT.
The research into this strangely spelled surname began about 1978. Of all the various surnames in my family tree this was the one I received the most request for more information. Gradually, through an exchange of information with other researchers it became apparent that though the name was unusual it had spread to many parts of England and the World.
Shadbolt, Shodbolt, Shadboult (e), Shotbolt, Sheadbolt, are variants of the name.
