About the Maw One-Name Study

We are at the moment still in the data gathering phase and welcome every additional information or corrections.

We especially want to hear about any stories, facts, documents or photos related to any of the Maw(e) and their descendants.

Variants

The registered variants of the name are Maw and Mawe although we also collect data about Mow and Mowe.

Data

Most of the Maw Birth, Marriage and Death entries from the General Register Offices for England & Wales have been recorded. We also have most of the Maw references from the England and Wales census from 1841 to 1911.

The one-name study also includes numerous entries from Parish Registers, from overseas (United States, Australia, Canada and New Zealand) as well as information submitted by many other Maw researchers.
