The Lawrence One-Name Study has the following goals:

i. To bring together individuals who collect family data about all references, branches, spellings, and occurences of the surname Lawrence

ii. To promote genealogical research, specifically Lawrence surname research, and to assist other researchers.

iii. To gather, extract, or provide access to all entries of the surname Lawrence and its variants from all available sources worldwide.

iv. To maintain a database of Lawrence families and act as a clearinghouse for all Lawrence researchers.

v. To administer the Lawrence DNA Project and promulgate the results.

The supported variants of Lawrence are Laurence, Lawrance, and Laurance
