The National Archive is a truly remarkable repository with very few surnames failing to feature somewhere within its vast collections. This seminar, presented by experts from TNA, will enable participants to explore even more of the valuable, but often under-used, records deposited there.
Applications are welcome from Guild members, family historians, genealogists, and members of the general public having an interest in One-Name Studies.
The cost of the seminar will be £22 per person, including morning and afternoon coffee or tea. As usual for Guild Seminars at The National Archives, lunch is not included in the seminar price, but you can either bring your own or purchase lunch in The National Archives restaurant.
The closing date for applications is 13th November 2009.
An additional feature of this seminar is the optional "Behind the Scenes" tour, shown in the programme above, for a maximum of 40 participants (20 per tour). As of 10th September 2009, all 40 places on the two tours arranged have been taken. It has proved impossible to provide additional tours, and so there is a waiting list where places will be allocated in order of the date of booking.
There are three main ways of booking¹:
If sending the form by post, it should be sent to the booking secretary: Sandra Turner, 2 St Annes Close, Winchester, Hampshire, SO22 4LQ.
Further information may be obtained by contacting the booking secretary, or by telephoning the Guild HelpDesk on 0800 011 2182, or by email: .
